New Instrument Exhibit, sponsored by Bein & Fushi
Registration for the New Instrument Exhibit is closed as of Nov. 9th.
Open to all convention registrants, the NIE is a noncompetitive showcase for networking of any type. Attendees may inspect, play, and in many cases, purchase exhibited instruments and bows. The exhibit will include from the works of up-and-coming makers to skilled professionals and recipients of The VSA's highest recognition, Hors Concours.
Exhibition fees directly support The VSA Scholarship Fund, providing critical tuition support for qualifying students in making and restoration programs across North America. We are proud to award approximately $30,000 in scholarships annually, fulfilling the VSA's core mission to develop well-trained technicians - the primary goal of our founders nearly 50 years ago.
Rare Instrument Exhibit
The Rare Instrument Exhibit is an opportunity for convention attendees to see up close exemplary works of modern and historic significance by makers who have profoundly shaped our ideas and modern day understanding. This exhibit is made possible by the generous support of private collectors, museums, and other institutions to which The VSA is very grateful. Please visit this extraordinary display to see and experience more.

Chamber Music Night
Grab your violin, viola, cello and bow or one from the NIE for an evening of making music with your fellow VSA members. Here's what you can practice beforehand:

Demonstration Stations
All aboard! A unique opportunity for hands-on learning is leaving the station.
This event puts you right next to skilled experts showcasing specialized techniques. You'll rotate through several small, intimate stations to discuss and observe detailed processes up-close.
It's fast-paced, focused, and perfect for professional makers, restorers, and serious enthusiasts.
New Instrument Exhibit Sound Testing
Hear the unique voices of modern instruments and bows by your fellow VSA members.
Join us for a special session where over 50 new violins, violas, cellos, and their bows will be played and directly compared by skilled professional musicians. Hear the nuances of each piece come to life as members of the Minnesota Orchestra, including Sonia Mantell, Jude Park, Sarah Grimes, and Faustina Housner, perform with these contemporary instruments.
This is a rare opportunity to evaluate and appreciate the acoustical qualities of the latest work from makers around the world.
Jam Sessions
After the regular programming finishes for the day, head over to the hotel's atrium to join an impromptu jam session! Bluegrass, old-time, Irish, who knows? Bring your instrument and play along.

Gather your friends and get ready for the ultimate test of string instrument knowledge, hosted by quizmasters Brandon Godman & Jerry Lynn.
Form your team of 3 to 6 people and compete in multiple rounds of trivia centered on all things violin: history, making, restoration, playing, and even pop culture.
It's a high-energy, friendly competition with fantastic prizes on the line, but the real reward is earning year-long bragging rights as The VSA's smartest team!

Roundtable Business Discussion
Bring your lunch and join a discussion dedicated to the business side of the string instrument world.
This is a unique, peer-led session of your best ideas for managing a successful business. We'll dive into the essential topics that keep a business running smoothly, including marketing, HR, accounting, finance, and more
This small-group, round-table format allows you to share challenges and learn directly how your peers address these complex business issues to make their specialized work in instrument making and restoration more profitable and sustainable. Come prepared to ask questions and share your expertise!
